Life Memories Design & Print Personnel


K.M.Smith is and always has been a 100% Australian family owned firm providing a caring, traditional, and affordable funeral service built upon strong family values. We have served Queensland families in their hour of need for 6 generations.

We are seeking a talented individual to manage our Life Memories Department. You will be responsible for creating printed and audio visual materials for our funeral services.

You will need to be a person who can manage their time efficiently, be able to work to tight deadlines, and be able to prioritise projects.

The role would suit someone who can work well under pressure and is able to think on their feet, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be compassionate and professional at all times.


Job Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Producing Order of Service / Mass booklets for funeral services.
  • Sourcing and providing music for the funeral service.
  • Creating slideshow presentations for the funeral service.
  • Producing prayer cards, thank you cards and bookmarks.
  • Creating photo memory books.
  • Maintain Stock Control, Record Keeping, Filing and Reporting.
  • Liaising with families, colleagues and outside sources, in a professional, timely manner.
  • Printing, cutting and binding of printed materials.
  • Equipment maintenance.
  • Occasional in-house design work.


Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Have high attention to detail and quality control.
  • Proof reading experience highly regarded.
  • Knowledge of funeral liturgies highly regarded, but not essential.
  • Be proficient in using a computer, Windows 10.
  • Experience with booklet / leaflet / card design and production, creation of audio visual presentations and photo editing.

The applicant must have:

  • An outstanding commitment to customer service


The position involves:

  • Preparing and driving funeral vehicles
  • Assisting at services
  • Assisting with coffin lifting
  • Transferring of deceased persons
